Finding the Right Support for You
Everyone’s experience is different, and so is every counselling journey. I offer a range of approaches designed to support your unique needs, whether you prefer to meet in person, talk over the phone, or explore at your own pace through a person-centred approach.
All sessions are confidential, safe, and tailored to you, providing a calm and supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals.

Person-Centred Therapy
Person-Centred Therapy is at the heart of my practice. This approach is based on the belief that we all have the inner resources to grow and heal when we are truly heard and understood.
In our sessions, you are always in control. Rather than being told what to do or how to feel, you’ll be supported to explore your experiences, emotions, and patterns of thinking in your own way and at your own pace.
I’ll listen with empathy and without judgement, helping you to see things more clearly and build the confidence to make positive changes. Over time, this process can help you:
- Develop self-awareness and self-acceptance
- Reduce feelings of anxiety and self-doubt
- Gain clarity during difficult life decisions
- Build healthier relationships with yourself and others

One-to-One Counselling
Sometimes life feels too heavy to manage alone. One-to-one counselling gives you dedicated time and space to talk privately about what’s on your mind.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, or personal changes, these sessions offer a compassionate and confidential environment to help you understand what you’re feeling and why.
Together, we’ll explore what’s been happening in your life and work towards practical ways to move forward. My aim is to help you feel supported, heard, and empowered to take positive steps towards your goals.
Common areas I work with include:
- Anxiety, panic and stress
- Depression and low mood
- Bereavement and loss
- Relationship problems
- Work-related stress and burnout
- Self-esteem and confidence issues
- Emotional abuse or trauma
Sessions are 50 minutes long and held in a comfortable, private space in Barnstaple.

Telephone Counselling
Sometimes life feels too heavy to manage alone. One-to-one counselling gIf you prefer to talk from the comfort of your own home, I also offer telephone counselling sessions. This option provides flexibility and convenience, while maintaining the same level of support and confidentiality as in-person therapy.
Telephone counselling can be ideal if:
- You live outside of North Devon but would like to work with me
- You have mobility or transport difficulties
- You prefer the comfort and familiarity of home
- You find it easier to open up without being face-to-face
We’ll agree a time that suits you, and I’ll guide you through the same supportive, person-centred process as an in-person session.

Online Counselling
Life doesn’t always make it easy to attend sessions in person, that’s why I also offer online counselling, giving you the same level of care, confidentiality and support from the comfort of your own home.
Online counselling provides a flexible and accessible way to talk about what’s troubling you. Whether you’re balancing work, family, or simply prefer the familiarity of your own space, meeting virtually can help you open up more comfortably while still feeling connected and understood.
Just like in-person sessions, we’ll focus on what’s been happening in your life, explore how you’re feeling, and work together to find ways forward that feel manageable and realistic. You’ll have a safe, non-judgemental space to be heard and supported.
Common areas I help with include:
- Anxiety, panic and stress
- Low mood or depression
- Bereavement and loss
- Relationship challenges
- Work-related stress or burnout
- Self-esteem and confidence issues
- Emotional abuse or trauma
Online sessions are 50 minutes long and take place via secure video call. You’ll receive a link before each session, making it easy to connect wherever you are.
Your Counselling Journey
Before starting counselling, we’ll have an initial chat to discuss what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’d like to get out of it. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a feel for how I work.
From there, sessions can be arranged weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels right for you. The number of sessions varies from person to person, you decide when you feel ready to end.
All sessions are strictly confidential, and I adhere to the ethical framework of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
